Notes from Dr. Jenq

Why Thanksgiving Is My Favorite Holiday

As the weather cools and the days grow shorter, I always feel myself slowing down and taking time to breathe. Thanksgiving has become my favorite holiday because it encourages us to pause, reflect, and fully appreciate the people around us. The warm kitchen smells, shared meals, and cozy gatherings all remind me how powerful connection can be.

A Season That Encourages Reflection

When fall arrives, we naturally move indoors and gather closer together. I love how this shift brings us back to the simple comforts of home. It creates a perfect moment to reflect on our lives, our relationships, and the small joys we often rush past.

During this season, I find myself thinking about growth—both personal and professional. I see how each year teaches me something new, and I appreciate the chance to carry these lessons into my work at Oregon Cosmetic and Reconstructive Clinic.

Gratitude for My Patients

Writing this from the clinic, I feel deeply grateful for my patients. Every day, you allow me into your lives and trust me to guide you through meaningful moments of healing and wellness. I never take that trust for granted.

You bring your stories, your goals, and your courage into the exam room. And each time, I feel honored to support you—whether it’s through reconstructive care, skin procedures, or larger surgical transformations.

Your willingness to participate actively in your own healing inspires me every day.

Appreciation for My Team

I’m also incredibly thankful for my staff—both in the clinic and in the operating room. Their care, skill, and steady commitment help create a safe and supportive environment for every patient who walks through our doors.

They work hard behind the scenes, prepare each room with intention, and step in with compassion whenever someone needs reassurance. Their teamwork keeps our clinic moving and helps us provide connected, thoughtful care.

Carrying These Values Forward

As we move into the holiday season, I hope we all take a moment to appreciate the present. It can be easy to rush through our days, but Thanksgiving encourages us to slow down, build stronger relationships, and celebrate the simple act of gathering.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to care for this community. Thank you for trusting me and my team at Oregon Cosmetic and Reconstructive Clinic with your wellness and healing.
