The surgery
What happens during a mommy makeover?
- Tummy tuck: loose skin removed and separated muscles repaired
- Breast lift or augmentation: height, shape and fullness restored
- Liposuction: stubborn fat on the flanks, hips or thighs refined
- Quilting sutures, so there are often no drains to manage
Is it right for you?
Who is a good candidate for a mommy makeover?
A mommy makeover is for people whose family is complete, whose weight is stable, and who want to address several changes from pregnancy and breastfeeding at once.
- Your family is complete
- Within 10 to 15 pounds of your goal weight
- A non-smoker, stopping nicotine at least 4 weeks before and after surgery
- Realistic expectations: restoring and refining, not a new body type
Why combine procedures?
One anesthesia, one recovery, shared facility and anesthesia fees, and a plan where every proportion works together. Dr. Jenq combines procedures only when your health supports it, keeping surgery within six hours.

Questions
Mommy makeover FAQ
Answers from Dr. Jenq.
How long does a mommy makeover take?
Typically 5 to 6 hours, depending on which procedures you combine. It’s outpatient, so you go home the same day.
How soon can I care for my children?
You’ll need adult help for at least the first two weeks. Lifting children and vigorous caregiving wait until you’re cleared, usually at the 6-week visit, so plan childcare ahead.
Can I have a mommy makeover if I plan to have more children?
Dr. Jenq strongly recommends waiting until your family is complete. A future pregnancy stretches the muscles and skin again and undoes the results.
When will I see results?
Meaningful changes at 4 to 6 weeks as swelling eases, most results by 3 months, and final results, with faded scars, at 12 months.
Does a mommy makeover fix a FUPA?
Yes. A full tummy tuck removes excess lower abdominal skin and fat and tightens the area. If fat is the main concern without much loose skin, liposuction alone may be enough.
Does insurance cover a mommy makeover?
Cosmetic mommy makeover procedures usually aren’t covered. If excess skin causes problems with walking, some plans may offer partial coverage, and our team can help you look into it. How we handle insurance
